LHC Upcycling EASY Pen
Sustainability you can hold in your hand.
Bring a piece of Lufthansa Cargo history into your everyday life. What was once a safety vest has now been transformed into an extraordinary writing companion. Through an innovative upcycling project, 400 discarded safety vests were turned into approximately 5,000 unique ballpoint pens. The different fabrics make every pen one of a kind, with its own distinctive character. You’re not just getting a high-quality ballpoint pen—you’re also holding a tangible example of the circular economy in action. The ink refill is replaceable. Discover it now and put sustainability into words with style.
Background:
In a specialized upcycling process developed by manaomea, the textile fibers from the safety vests are processed, combined with a bio-based resin, and formed into a new, durable material. Each pen represents a more mindful use of resources and demonstrates how discarded materials can be given new life in a different context. Its replaceable ink refill also extends the pen’s useful life—for a longer product life cycle and less waste.
